Little Rock Animal Village Pitbulls

I am writing to express my deep concern about the policy prohibiting the adoption or release of Pitbulls from our local shelter. This policy condemns innocent dogs to euthanasia, simply because of their breed. As an advocate for animal welfare, I strongly believe that every dog deserves a chance at life, regardless of breed or mix. Pitbulls, in particular, are often misunderstood and misrepresented. They are loving, loyal, and gentle companions, just like any other breed. By prohibiting the adoption of Pitbulls, we are not only condemning these dogs to death but also perpetrating harmful stereotypes and breed-specific discrimination. I urge you to reconsider this policy and work towards making Pitbulls adoptable from our shelter. This can be achieved by: - Implementing temperament testing to assess individual dogs, rather than judging them based on breed - Providing training and socialization programs to help Pitbulls become more adoptable - Collaborating with local rescue groups and organizations that specialize in Pitbull adoption By working together, we can create a more inclusive and compassionate community for all dogs, regardless of breed.

Thank you for your time,

I urge you to reconsider this policy.
