Save Claremont Police Department

Dear Mayor Schroeder and Claremont City Councilmembers,

As a resident and/or business owner of Claremont, I take pride in our city’s police force and feel that it is your duty to ensure we keep OUR Claremont Police Department.

At the upcoming Claremont City Council Meeting, you will consider a feasibility study that would look into contracting OUR police services with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

How could you even look into this? 

This is not what we elected you to do!

Under your watch, the Claremont Police Officers Association has been without an agreed upon contract for over a year and a half and veteran officers have left Claremont Police Department to join other police departments with better sustainability.

We are losing police officers to other local police departments and it is completely unacceptable.

As our local police officers continue to walk out the door, you continue to do nothing to address the problem.

I hope you make the right decision on Tuesday night and continue to support OUR Claremont Police Department.
