Stand With Suisun City Firefighters

I urge the Suisun City Council to maintain fair FLSA overtime pay rates for Suisun City firefighters and resolve the ongoing dispute through good-faith negotiations. Reducing firefighters’ overtime compensation while these issues remain unresolved is unfair and unjust.

Reducing overtime pay:

• Risks increased reliance on mandatory overtime and additional strain on the workforce.
• Threatens the City’s ability to maintain a reliable, professional fire service for our community.
• Undermines firefighter morale, recruitment, and retention.

We urge the Council to:

• Maintain the status quo while the dispute is resolved.
• Honor existing labor agreements and negotiate proposed compensation changes through the appropriate process.
• Work toward a fair resolution that protects public safety.
