Fully Fund the Fire Chief's Proposal

Dear City Council and City Manager, I am asking you to fully fund the Fire Chief's pay restructuring proposal in the current FY 2021-22 Budget. Anything less does not address the dangerously high attrition rate of experienced firefighters. A watered-down version continues to undermine the ability of the Spartanburg Fire Department to render the high-quality service the stakeholders of Spartanburg deserve and expect. Consider the magnitude of this decision and the impact on safety if attrition continues due to non-competitive compensation. Once again; Fully fund the original proposal from the Fire Chief to restructure fire department pay. Thank you.
