Firefighters keep our community safe. It’s that simple.

It’s time to prioritize fire protection in the Moraga-Orinda Fire District. Our families deserve to feel safe, but that’s not possible right now because there aren’t enough firefighters in our neighborhoods to protect us. The number of firefighters is so low that they’re forced to be on the fire engine and ambulance at the same time. This unsafe policy has already proved disastrous. At a recent fire while an ambulance was responding to an emergency, an Orinda home fire burned for nearly 10 minutes because there were no firefighters to respond on the nearest fire engine.

Our brave firefighters put everything on the line to protect us. But they can’t do that if there aren’t enough firefighters in our neighborhoods to do the job. As wildfire season rapidly approaches, it’s even more important that we prioritize fire protection and add more firefighters to the Moraga-Orinda Fire District.
